At the Everyone Active Watford Woodside Leisure Centre a new specialist toning suite was opened earlier this year. With specialist power assisted equipment, the toning suite provides supported low impact exercise programmes for older adults with a range of health conditions (including dementia) that are new to exercise. Watford cycle hub
The Watford Cycle Hub are currently running a new initiative which is aimed at elderly people in Watford which enables them to experience the outdoors and nature close-up on a trishaw. Age UK Hertfordshire provides a range of services to support people living with dementia, low level memory loss or mild cognitive impairment, and their family and carers. It funds the Chalmers Court Day Centre in Rickmansworth which provides a safe, caring, stimulating environment for older people with dementia in the local community.
Carers in Hertfordshire
Carers in Hertfordshire provides advice, information and support to unpaid carers - people looking after someone who is elderly, disabled, has a physical or mental illness or who misuses drugs or alcohol. They enable carers to share their views or experiences with those providing or planning health and social care services in Hertfordshire.
